What Sets the 2027 Honda Passport Apart

2027 Honda Passport exterior

V6 Muscle and Torque-Vectoring AWD

The direct-injected 24-valve DOHC V6 makes 280 horsepower at 6,100 rpm and 258 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm. It sends power through a shift-by-wire 10-speed automatic with paddle shifters. Second-generation i-VTM4 all-wheel drive is standard on every Passport and can vector torque between the rear wheels to sharpen cornering on pavement. Off pavement, Trail Torque Logic manages wheelspin when a tire lifts or loses grip.

  • Seven drive modes: Normal, Econ, Sport, Snow, Tow, Trail, and Sand
  • 5,000-lb towing capacity with standard Trailer Stability Assist
  • EPA-rated 19/25/21 mpg (RTL) and 18/22/20 mpg (TrailSport)

Room for Five and Their Gear

The Passport focuses on two rows instead of three, so second-row passengers get 40.9 inches of legroom. There’s also 44 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, expanding to more than 104 cubic feet with the 60/40 split seats folded. Cargo bins with a hidden storage well keep wet or muddy gear separate. Tri-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and a 10-way power driver’s seat with memory are standard on every trim.

  • 44 cu ft behind the second row, up to 104.6 cu ft maximum
  • Durable HondaTex and cloth seats with orange stitching on TrailSport
  • Ventilated front seats and heated rear outboard seats on TrailSport Elite

A Cockpit Built for the Backcountry

A 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in sits beside a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, a Qi wireless charger, and a Wi-Fi hotspot are standard throughout the lineup. Honda Sensing on the Passport adds Blind Spot Information with Lane Change Assist, Driver Attention Monitor, and front and rear parking sensors on every trim. TrailSport models add a Multiview Camera System with washers, the TrailWatch off-road camera system, and the Honda Trail Experience app.

  • Google built-in and wireless smartphone integration on all trims
  • TrailWatch cameras and Honda Trail Experience on TrailSport trims
  • 115-volt outlets in the second row and cargo area on TrailSport trims

The 2027 Passport TrailSport Gets a Lift

Honda’s 2027 updates focus on the TrailSport, the version most Passport buyers choose. A completely reengineered suspension raises ground clearance to 9.65 inches, a gain of 1.38 inches over the 2026 TrailSport. It also improves approach, departure, and breakover angles, along with suspension articulation and off-road ride quality. The TrailSport also looks tougher, with larger fender flares, a darker and resculpted lower front fascia, and a pair of amber LED hood scoop lights. TrailWatch and a heated steering wheel, previously reserved for the TrailSport Elite, are now standard on the base TrailSport.

  • Reengineered TrailSport suspension with 9.65 inches of ground clearance
  • Larger fender flares, new lower fascia, and amber LED hood scoop lights
  • Blackout Package with new black front and rear fascias, 18-inch black wheels, and black badges
  • New Smoke Blue Pearl paint, replacing Obsidian Blue Pearl

From Prescott Valley Commutes to Red Rock Backroads

Around Prescott Valley, Snow mode and standard all-wheel drive help on cold winter mornings, and the quiet cabin makes highway runs to Phoenix relaxing. On weekends, the TrailSport’s added clearance and 275/60R18 all-terrain tires suit the rough, unpaved roads that lead to trailheads in Prescott National Forest. The same goes for the rocky backroads outside Sedona, where Trail mode and TrailWatch cameras help you place each tire on uneven ground. Families in Cottonwood heading out to camp can tow a small trailer with the RTL Towing’s factory Class III hitch.
